Bio
Yi Xie is a multifaceted professional engaged in various roles as a game designer, game developer, and digital artist. His current endeavors are centered around the fascinating realm of player experience and the intricate interplay of emotions within the context of video games. His primary focus lies in the realm of two-player games, where he is dedicated to delving into the intricate web of social dynamics that emerge between players in such settings. His goal is to dissect the various factors and design elements that imbue two-player games with emotional depth and uniqueness. His educational journey began with a Bachelor's degree earned at UC Davis, where he pursued a dual major in Computer Science and Cinema & Digital Media. Building upon this foundation, he is currently pursuing a PhD, where he continues to explore his research spaning from multiple disciplines which include Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Philosophy, and Sociology. Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, he has a passion for experimenting with games as an art medium. This creative outlet allows him to craft intriguing, meaningful, and sometimes even radical experiences for their audience, further enriching their engagement with the world of gaming.
